So what is Nutrition? Dr. Frederick Hatfield PhD defines Nutrition as the programmatic use of nutrients. Ok, so what are Nutrients?
Nutrients are defined as food and the specific elements and compounds that can be used by the body to build and maintain itself and
to produce energy. Most of the time we use this word to refer to the macronutrients of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and water and
the micronutrients of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. All these items are what our food consist of.

the onset of the huge fast food companies and super growers of food, our food is not containing all the essential nutrition our bodies
need. We are exposed to genetically-altered fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat on a daily basis. We have diseases that were never
seen or heard of 100 years ago but now are common household terms. We here at Wellness 4 everyone believe that the mass production
of food and the mass handling of food is the cause for most of the diseases we are having to deal with in our society today. We believe
that we have to be alert and conscious of what we are bringing into our bodies each day if we are to have any control over outside
influences of our health.
We want you to look at nutrition a little different than most look at nutrition today. We look at nutrition as a way of feeling great
and living life to the fullest in the ways we want to live. Most people look at nutrition as an answer for the appetite they have.
How many people look at food with the question of what is this food going to do for me? Our hope here is that you are looking for
knowledge of what to do to lose weight, feel better, and provide your body with plenty of nutrition for energy to carry out your daily
mission. We will talk about vitamins, minerals, the all-important H2O, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. We will talk about organic
food and what "organic" really is. Do you know what foods the federal government allows to be called “organic”? Most do not know.
